About the Program

“Coexistence” is a diverse, interactive, and practical program of the Zoological Center that combines the animal world, nature, human responsibility, and a culture of humane interaction with animals.

The program is designed for children, teenagers, and adults and, according to age, combines interesting information, observation, practical activities, discussions, and real-life examples.

The main idea of the program is

Loving an animal does not only mean petting it — understanding, respecting, protecting it, and taking its nature into consideration are also part of love.

Main Topics of the Program

1

Understanding Animals

What does animal behavior tell us? How do animals express fear, stress, calmness, interest, or aggression? Why is it important to correctly understand animal behavior?

2

Domestic and Wild Animals

What is the difference between domestic and wild animals? What are their natural needs, lifestyles, and ways of interacting with people?

3

Animal Behavior

Why does an animal behave in a particular way? How can we correctly understand and interpret its behavior?

4

Can We Pet Every Animal?

Being close to an animal does not always mean physical contact. Participants will learn about the importance of respecting an animal’s personal space, safety, and proper treatment.

5

Animal Body Language

How can we recognize an animal’s condition through its movements, posture, and other behavioral signs?

6

An Animal Is Not a Toy

Keeping an animal is not simply a desire — it is a responsibility. We will discuss the responsibilities involved in caring for an animal and the importance of responsible attitudes.

7

When an Animal Needs Help

How should we act if we encounter an injured, lost, or abandoned animal? What can we do, and when should we avoid intervening on our own?

8

Wild Animals and Nature

Why is the natural environment important for wild animals? Under what circumstances might an animal need human assistance, and why can’t every animal return to the wild?

9

People and Nature

How does human activity affect animals and nature? We will discuss environmental pollution, habitat loss, noise, and other challenges.

10

Animals and People — Safe Interaction

How should we behave when encountering an animal? How can we protect ourselves while also respecting the animal?

11

Myths and Reality

Examining common beliefs about animals and comparing them with real facts.

12

Love and Responsibility Toward Animals

What does it truly mean to love an animal? Why are love, care, patience, responsibility, and respect for an animal’s nature connected?

13

People and Animals — Coexistence

How can people and animals live in the same world without endangering one another?
